(WASHINGTON, DC) May 26, 2021 -- Today, U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) called on the U.S. Department of the Interior to suspend the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM’s) wild horse and burro Adoption Incentive Program, citing reports by the New York Times and the American Wild Horse Campaign that federally-protected animals adopted through the program have been sold at slaughter auctions. 


Dangerous NM Wild Horse Bill Dies in Committee

(March 24, 2021) Advocates are breathing a sigh of relief after a dangerous wild horse bill in the New Mexico Senate (SB385), introduced by State Senators Pat Woods and Brenda McKenna, died when the 2021 legislative session ended without the legislation being heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

AWHC was monitoring this bill closely and prepared to launch grassroots opposition if it had advanced.
